TheFlySmith Japanese Tungsten Alloy Bobbin Midge Bobbin Holders come in 2 styles. Standard midge, and Anodized. The standard midge bobbin has brass feet and handle, and it weighs 12.2 grams. The blue and red uses anodized aluminum for the feet and handle, and they weigh almost less than half at 6.8 grams. These will last a lifetime!

I love these bobbins. They are lightweight, thread easily, and spin willingly while i prepare next steps. I tie mostly size 18 and down. I wish I had two more. everyone should try one.

They are absolutely wonderful to work with. They are very well balanced and the weight is perfect for the smaller lighter hooks. The tube will never be cut by GSP or any thread we use for tying flys.

This is a lifetime bobbin. I also have a full compliment of the larger Japanese bobbin holders. They are super.

Everything else has gone by the wayside. They are being given away to other veterans I know that tie.

I have one bobbin just with the FlySmithCo 24/0 GSP. It is my primary thread and it comes out smoth and even.

Let's say you use a heavy waxed GSP from the S*fi. Guess what, mom, no colored wax mess inside the bobbin.
